Senior DevOps Infrastructure Engineer

Full-time / LATAM Based – Remote

About the Сlient

Our client is a leading provider of cloud-based grants management software designed exclusively for the philanthropic, government, and non-profit sectors. Their unified platform connects funding organizations with grantseekers, streamlining the entire funding lifecycle—from application intake and compliance reviews to payment disbursement and impact reporting. By centralizing data and automating complex administrative workflows, their technology empowers private foundations, public agencies, and non-profits to eliminate operational bottlenecks, make data-driven decisions, and maximize their social impact.

About the Role

They are seeking a Senior DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to join their core engineering team as a long-term staff augmentation partner. You will be fully embedded to help remove critical infrastructure bottlenecks and make software delivery faster, safer, and more automated. This is a highly hands-on role for a senior engineer who enjoys building systems rather than just administering them. You will take immediate ownership of modernizing their AWS and Terraform-based infrastructure, building out new data-lake foundations, and strengthening observability. The strongest candidate will have an automation-first mindset, consistently replacing repetitive manual work with reliable systems and tooling.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineer in production environments.
  • Strong, practical experience with Terraform (not just theoretical familiarity).
  • Deep production experience building and operating cloud infrastructure in AWS, alongside production Kubernetes experience.
  • Proven track record of designing or materially improving CI/CD and deployment automation.
  • Ability to work independently with limited handholding, balancing planned work with urgent operational requests.
  • Working Hours: Must be available for strong overlap with U.S. Eastern Time (EST) business hours.
Bonus Points
  • Hands-on experience with Argo CD, GitHub Actions, and New Relic.
  • Experience with GCP (especially AWS-to-GCP networking), data-lake cloud foundations, or automating DNS/TLS certificate infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting modernization from a legacy monolith (like Rails) toward Node, React, and microservices.

What You’ll Do

  • Infrastructure as Code: Build, maintain, and improve Terraform-based infrastructure, primarily operating in AWS (which makes up roughly 90% of their cloud environment, alongside 10% GCP).
  • CI/CD Automation: Build out and harden GitHub Actions and Argo CD pipelines to ensure consistent, reliable releases and reduce reliance on static environments (including shifting to blue/green deployments).
  • Kubernetes Operations: Operate and improve Kubernetes-based infrastructure and deployment workflows.
  • Customer-Domain Infrastructure: Automate and troubleshoot custom-domain workflows, including DNS, SSL certificates, SPF, DKIM, and related security infrastructure.
  • Observability: Strengthen monitoring, tracing, and alerting (currently using New Relic) to reduce infrastructure as a delivery bottleneck.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 USD annually.
  • PTO Policy
